The Olympic Village

“The Olympic Village” is a collection of Artists, Educators and Innovators who believe in bringing the visual and performing arts into every person’s life. We are a workshop based school that can create individual and group programs with the following goals in mind:

  1. Help attendees find the COURAGE to “become one with an action”…Help them find INSPIRATION, ENJOYMENT and HAPPINESS in activities and undertakings.
  2. Help build CONFIDENCE, SELF ESTEEM, and TRUST.
  3. Foster APPRECIATION of everything around us through AWARENESS.
  4. Give attendees “TOOLS” and teach them how to use these skills to express their own ARTISTRY.
  5. Create a POSITIVE and SAFE space for attendees to SUCCEED.
  6. Use specific concepts within each workshop as common threads running through all of the workshops. Through COLLABORATIVE projects we will teach SELF RESPECT, RESPECT FOR OTHERS and that more can be achieved when we work TOGETHER.

Amanda Dahlgren (Artist)

In addition to being an artist, I have always been – and will always be – a teacher. I taught for the San Dieguito Union High School District for over 7 years, where I developed curriculum in fine art photography, and I currently teach graphic design and photography at Platt College. I have also always been an avid student and am currently pursuing an MFA in photography. I strongly believe that the connections and collaborations that happen while learning and teaching are what keep me alive as an artist.
